Michael O’Toole (1963 – 2018)
Michael O’Toole was born in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1963. He attended BCIT where he studied architectural design and later moved to Toronto to work for several architectural firms. Eventually he was drawn back to the beautiful West Coast where he lived for many years.
Michael’s love for design led him to explore diverse subject matter ranging from landscape and seascape, to architecture and portraiture. His vivid and dramatic style was inspired by his former instructor, renowned artist Charles M. Svob. Michael traveled both locally and internationally and painted his inspirations.
Michael believed that his paintings reflected a balance of emotion and technical skill. Painting was an “all consuming passion”. He has lectured extensively and enjoyed many successful exhibitions in British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec.
I represented Michael O’Toole’s work for over 20 years and was deeply saddened when he died unexpectedly. I would be pleased to take any of Michael’s Paintings on consignment.
