Andrea Pratt grew up in West Vancouver and Lions Bay, B.C., and received a BFA in Visual Art from the University of Victoria in 1983. After working as a photo lab technician in British Columbia and London, she got her teaching credentials at UBC (1986). She worked as a teacher in B.C. and Greece for 13 years before returning to painting. Since then she has participated in numerous exhibitions, won awards, sold her work in commercial galleries and built an extensive portfolio.
In 2007 she achieved signature status (AFCA) with the Federation of Canadian Artists. As a painter she has explored various styles, subject matter and mediums, but the natural world has always been her primary inspiration and starting point. Her life took a different direction in 2013 and, as a result, she relocated to British Columbia’s stunning Sunshine Coast in 2015, eager to pick up the paintbrush again.
